The 2009 Dodge Journey is offered in three trim versions, the base model SE, mid-level SXT and up-level R/T. The standard engine to all the models include 2.0 liter DOHC I-4 version that delivers power up to 173 hp at 6000 rpm and torque of 166 lb ft at 4000 rpm. The engine is mated to 4-speed automatic transmission, while it offers 6-speed automatic transmission as optional. As far as the fuel economy rates are concerned, it can achieve 15 mpg in the city premises and 20 mpg on the highway roads. The Dodge Journey problems include with the amenities like electrical wiring system, auxiliary power outlet, and with powertrain control module. According to the sources from the company, more than 6,700 models powered by 3.5 liter V6 engine were reported with problems and this is due to the defect in engine wiring.
