Engine & Performance
Power to the 2009 Dodge Journey SXT and R/T models come from 3.5 liter DOHC V6 engine that delivers 235 hp at 6400 rpm and torque of 232 lb ft at 4000 rpm, while the base model comes powered by 2.4 liter DOHC I-4 version that generates 173 hp at 6000 rpm and torque of 166 lb ft at 4000 rpm. The V6 engine is paired to 6-speed automatic transmission, while the I-4 version is mated to 4-speed automatic. With the V6 engine, the mid-sized crossover SUV can achieve fuel economy of 15 mpg in the city premises and 22 mpg on the highway roads.
Capacities
The current generation Dodge Journey SXT slots between Dodge’s Durango and Nitro mid-sized SUVs. It has the seating capacity to accommodate up to 7-passengers. The front wheel drive version, SXT comes with the new features like sport suspension and 17 inch wheels, while the all wheel drive version comes with more performance oriented suspension and 19 inch wheels.
